Black Women’s Visions is a community-based project, meaning we’ve included Black women living with HIV in every step since our inception.
How can I get involved?
Do you have a Community Advisory Committee?
Yes!
In it’s prime, BWV had a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) built to ensure Black women living with HIV are involved and leading processes of building and sharing knowledge. Women in the CAC met once monthly with our research coordinator, Ranece, to discuss different elements of the project, from information featured on the website, to website design, to events and social media. Women were hired to create content and increase community engagement in ways they saw fit. The blogs you see on our home page, the posts you see on our Instagram page and the videos you see on our Youtube were all content created by our dedicated and committed Community Advisory Committee members.
